Therapist: Sharon Valencia, LCSW

Sharon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years experience practicing clinical social work in Baton Rouge.  Her undergraduate degree is in English and Speech Education and she earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from LSU.  Her extensive experience includes supervising LSU graduate students in the LSU Student Mental Health Center, in state mental health and substance abuse centers and in private practice.

Sharon ValenciaI am relaxed, easy to talk to, and have a good sense of humor.  I  provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental atmosphere where you will feel comfortable and accepted.  This is a place where  positive change can occur.   My intention is to create a collaborative partnership that enables you to explore your issues and concerns, gain insight about yourself, find answers to problems, and feel empowered.   To me, therapy is a process of self-discovery and I enjoy working with clients who desire a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.  I am a down to earth, engaging therapist who believes that people are shaped by their relationships and life experiences.   I am committed to helping my clients achieve   meaningful life changes and to create satisfying and  fulfilling relationships.
